Because so many of us had never met each other, the party turned into a family reunion. My mom made a giant 'family tree' so everyone could see how they were related to one another. It was fun to be able to see how many people were in our family.
My little part of the tree.......
My 'insane' mother (I use that in the most loving way possible) made individualized name tags for every single person (over a 150.....). Each one was as detailed as Patyon's as you see here. It was a labor of love, but it made it so nice when we were visiting with people. Instead of asking who they were- we could see who their parents were and how they fit into our family. So many of the people there I hadn't seen since at least since my wedding and some, years before that. Little kids were now adults with their own families.

What a wonderful reason to go to Canada! The way your mom planned the party proves a very direct relationship between you and your mom. Nothing halfway about it.
